So This Is Happening of the Day: NBC, which recently shelved the critically acclaimed sitcom Community just before announcing it had picked up Bryan Fuller’s “edgy” reboot of The Munsters, is continuing its streak of head-scratching decisions with the news that it has partnered with The Jim Henson Company to develop a single-camera comedy about a Palm Springs family of humans that lives next door to a family of puppets.
Hijinx ensue!
The New Neighbors is reportedly being penned by Afterlife scribe John Hoffman and John Riggi of 30 Rock Fame. Jim Henson’s daughter Lisa will serve as the show’s executive producer.
